The internationally famous Desert Festival of Jaisalmer is one of the prominent traditional carnivals of India celebrated every year in the month of February. Highlights of the festival –
Camel sports & races: The topmost attraction of the festival is Camel sports and other such desert activities like Camel races, Camel Polo, etc. The polo match and races are played by trained professionals on their beautifully adorned camels.
Longest Mustache Competition: It oversees the participants from various nearby places to participate in the competition. In this men with big mustache takes part with pride and honor to achieve the tag of Longest Mustache.
Tug of War: In this event, it sees the maximum crowd of participants that held between the foreign and Indian nationals (both including men and women) where each team pull a rope and make a concentrated effort to drag another team over a central point of the line.
Besides these, Turban tying competition and cultural folk dance performances are also organized during the celebration that makes the ambiance get lively as possible.
