Best time to visit

The town of Kumbhalgarh enjoys a hot and dry climate all throughout the year, especially during the summer season. Winters in the city starts from October to February, which brings soothing climate in the city. It is also the best time to spot wildlife in the reserve. Monsoon showers splash its magical spell over the city with the dense green vegetation that makes it a place gleam with greenery and scenic vistas.

Major tourist spots in Kumbhalgarh

Kumbhalgarh Fort

Engulfed by the Aravali hills, Kumbhalgarh Fort is one of the most notable places to visit in the city. Resting at 1900 meters above the sea level, it was constructed by the Rana Kumbha of Mewar dynasty. The fortress was also listed as one of the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in India. The enormous fortified walls enclose innumerable temples and palaces offering panoramic views of the hills and forests.

Neelkanth Mahadeo Temple

The most popular temple of Neelkant Mahadeo is dedicated to Lord Shiva and dates back to 1458. The religious temples have an open mandapa, a sanctum, pillars with inscriptions, six feet tall Shiva Linga made with stone. It is one of the most charming attractions in the city.

Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary

Sprawling over the land of 578 sq km, encircling the fort, lies a Kumbhalgarh Wildlife Sanctuary surrounded completely by Aravali hills. The reserve is home to varied flora and fauna species which was earlier the former hunting ground for royal families. Enjoying jungle safari in the reserve makes it pure heaven for thrill and adventure.

Parshuram Temple

Located inside a cave, Parshuram Temple is a place where Rishi Parshuram meditates for years. It is a must-see attraction in Kumbhalgarh. The temple is devoted to Lord Shiva and resides many shrines of Lord Ganesh and nine holy kunds.
