Jaisalmer is located in the arid regions of Rajasthan where generally the days are hot whereas nights are cold. Summers in the city is extremely hot and humid which makes sightseeing challenging. Thus, the best time to visit Jaisalmer is winter which starts from mid-October to early March. However, monsoon in Jaisalmer brings relief from the scorching heat of the sun while appending greenery to the desert areas.

Jaisalmer Fort

The 800-year-old majestic fort emits golden radiance that glows proudly under the beauty of Golden Fort which is also known as Sonar Quila. However, this grand majestic Jaisalmer Fort is one of the living forts in the world that beholds around the 2/3rd of the old city population.

Patwon ki Haveli

Built in 1805 CE by Gulam Singh Patwa, the Patwon ki Haveli is counted as one the most beautiful Havelis of Rajasthan. The elegant structure and brilliant carvings of this haveli reflect the fine art of artisans during that reign. A museum inside its premises displays some of the best artifacts and precious objects of that time.

Gadisar Lake

The beautiful man-made Gadisar Lake is stunningly surrounded by cenotaphs, ruins, and shrines. Many migratory birds wander around the lake adding an ultimate panorama of bird watching paradise. Bada Bagh

Located a few kilometers away from Jaisalmer City, Bada Bagh is a huge garden complex made of chhatris or cenotaphs. The cenotaphs or chhatris were constructed to commemorate the kindness of ancient kings, rulers, and royal families of Jaisalmer.

Nathmaji ki Haveli

The former residence of Jaisalmer’s Prime Minister - Diwan Mohata Nathmal is now a prominent tourist attraction of Jaisalmer. The prime feature of this haveli is its Rajput and Islamic style of architecture constructed by the two brothers. It’s most amazing feature is that it was built simultaneously and yet independently by the brothers.

Jain Temples

Iconic attraction of Jaisalmer, Jain Temples are devoted to Jain Tirthankars and are widely famous for its brilliant Dilwara style of paintings. Its fine architecture of yellow sandstone is distinctive and this is what sets Jaisalmer Temples apart from others. Lodurva Jain Temple is one of the prominent attractions of Jain Temples.
